Well….there have been some great discussions about oral sex this week. It was a topic that I had been considering for a very long time. There are women in our town that have taken the time to reveal to The Marine that they are reading SexyWhispers. (You know who you are! *holler if you know me!*)
I wish that made me feel stronger, but really it makes me a little uneasy. The Marine shrugs it off with the statement, “Tell the truth baby.” He is right of course, but it is still a small community. I comfort myself that, in reality, I live in a big world. I live in the blogosphere and seek the understanding of women like me or those would like to join our ranks. These are the ranks of women that talk to each other about sex openly—like we are not ashamed that God gave us sexuality or the ability to enjoy this vital part of our lives.
May women in the blogosphere hide their identity and I can respect that need for privacy. To me, that makes it seem like I dont believe in what I say. More than that, what I seek is not the mere acceptance of the status quo. Nope…that won’t do because we have only a limited number of days on this rock. And, when those days end, I hope to be standing before God with the knowledge that I ardently pursued the path He laid at my feet. So…for this series….I end with two of my favorite writing by amazing women.
For all the women in the world who join me on the journey of sexual discovery everyday. Peace, Love, and Cheetos! ~~Dee

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”–originally written by Marianne Williamson

PHENOMENAL WOMAN by Maya Angelou
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies
I’m not cute or built to suit a model’s fashion size
But when I start to tell them
They think I’m telling lies.
I say
It’s in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips
The stride of my steps
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please
And to a man
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees
Then they swarm around me
A hive of honey bees.
I say
It’s the fire in my eyes
And the flash of my teeth
The swing of my waist
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can’t see.
I say
It’s in the arch of my back
The sun of my smile
The ride of my breasts
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say
It’s in the click of my heels
The bend of my hair
The palm of my hand
The need for my care.
‘Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally
Phenomenal woman
That’s me.
